Veteran Quebec Blues singer/guitarist, Bob Walsh released his new CD “After The Storm” – a title reflecting the storm of recent health issues. An exuberant crowd filtered through Bistro a Jojo, as Walsh played selections from his new release.
“one of our greatest Québec blues players.”

Bob Walsh CD Launch
Bob Walsh’s voice ‘was made for the blues’
Brendan Kelly
The launch was at Bistro a Jojo, a well known for blues on St. Denis Street in Montreal. The popular club is relatively small, with minimal lighting – in fact I’m sure my travelling flash rig has more power in the modelling lights than the entire wattage of the stage rig. This was an exercise to try and manage interesting shots in tough conditions. Most importantly the Heineken was cold!!

Walsh has played the Montreal International Jazz Festival dozens of times and this release is his 11th album. Bob won the Félix award at the 2003 ADISQ gala as the artist with the most success in a language other than French (beating out, among others, Céline Dion), and in 2013 was given the Blues With a Feeling lifetime-achievement award by the Toronto Blues Society.
