Cubist Photography
Les InconNUS , a play on the French word for “unknown”, as well as the French word for nude, “nus”, combined with some typography fun! The series is an on and off again project with sometimes years passing before I started or completed another piece – usually while trying to resolve an issue – either artistic or technical! I spent a lot of time thinking about how to correct problems I had, and would always return to the two main sources – Picasso and David Hockney – and study them further for clues to solving the problems. The cubist photography series is an ongoing series of work.
No nude, however abstract, should fail to arouse in the spectator some vestige of erotic feeling, even if it be only the faintest shadow – and if it does not do so it is bad art and false morals.
